2024 Creative Workshops Week in Photos.

Creative Workshops Week at Kitanga Primary School’s Special Needs Education Centre, July 21st – 27th.

We are happy to share the success of our Creative Workshops Week, a week-long intense program focused on bringing creative, innovative, artistic and play centered activities to both impaired (special needs education center) and able-bodied children at a village public school – Kitanga Primary School in the Rukiga district of Southwest Uganda.

Throughout the week, we engaged 173 students (79 girls and 94 boys) everyday in a variety of activities including dance, creative movement, traditional drumming, beatboxing/vocal percussion, rap, singing, poetry, graffiti, street art, illustrating, drawing, mural painting, recycling through art, beading, making play toys, and many other improvisational activities.

The week ended with a vibrant performance by the students, showcasing their newly developed abilities and skills to the entire school community. This student-led event saw them organizing, hosting, and performing various acts, giving the students a chance to demonstrate their growth and leadership potential.

We are thankful to our partners, Edirisa UK for collaborating with us for a 3rd year in a row to bring this transformative and unique experience to the students, positioning them as leaders and creators in their school community.
